SAMOKOV, May 25 – RIA Dagestan. Coached by Dagestani trainer Arslanbek Aliev, the Russian U-15 youth freestyle wrestling team took first place in the overall team standings at the European Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Russia's freestyle wrestlers collected six medals, four of which were won by Dagestan representatives. Gold medalists were Shamil Damurov (44 kg), Umar Ikhlazov (48 kg), and Badrudin Magomedov (52 kg), while Ibragim Magomedov (85 kg) earned silver.
The Russian team outperformed Georgia and Azerbaijan in the medal standings, highlighting Dagestan's enduring strength in nurturing young wrestling talent.
