MAKHACHKALA, June 11 – RIA Dagestan. More than 1,500 people joined the "Donor Code. Unity" event on Makhachkala's central square today. The campaign marked World Blood Donor Day and was part of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
It sought to replenish blood reserves needed for treating injured servicemen of the Special Military Operation and to draw attention to the value of voluntary, unpaid blood donation. The Blood Service mobile unit was open from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., welcoming artists of the "Lezginka" ensemble, officials, public figures and engaged citizens.
"Lezginka" artistic director Dzhambulat Magomedov commented that for the ensemble and the cultural community, giving blood for the troops is both a humanitarian duty and a sacred mission. He explained that by donating, they share their strength and collective creative energy with the soldiers, contributing to the joint effort and that only with a united spirit can the shared, long-awaited victory be brought nearer.
