MOSCOW, May 22 – RIA Dagestan. During a meeting with participants of the "Time of Heroes" program at the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the special role of the Republic of Dagestan within the country. Addressing Temirlan Abutalimov, Acting Minister for National Policy and Religious Affairs of Dagestan and Hero of Russia, Putin described the republic as one of the most important constituent entities of the Federation in the Caucasus.
According to the President, Dagestan preserves unique traditions of loyalty to both its local homeland and the nation as a whole. Putin specifically noted the courage demonstrated by residents of Dagestan in the Special Military Operation zone, emphasizing that representatives of the republic display their finest qualities at all levels—from rank-and-file soldiers to senior command staff.
In response to Abutalimov's remarks about nationwide support for Dagestan following recent flooding, the President noted that Russia always strives to reciprocate the republic's commitment. Concluding the meeting, Putin emphasized that strengthening interethnic unity is essential to preserving the country, and that Abutalimov's work in his ministerial capacity addresses some of the most sensitive and significant issues for Russia.
