MAKHACHKALA, March 17 – RIA Dagestan. Introduction of a comprehensive counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system is underway at Makhachkala Airport.
An inspection of the air hub was conducted by representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Dagestan and the Transport Prosecutor's Office. Assessment of facility vulnerability in relation to contemporary security considerations and evaluation of existing protective measures were included in the inspection scope.
Amendments to the facility's transport security plan were made following the inspection. Measures for establishment of a security and control complex, including systems for detection, tracking and suppression of UAVs are currently being put in place.
Such inspections are reported to be carried out on a regular basis pursuant to directives from the Anti-Terrorism Commission in Dagestan.
