MOSCOW, April 25 – RIA "Dagestan". Native of Dagestan Elmira Karakhanova has won the finale of Channel One's "The Voice" TV Show. The 30-year-old opera singer, born in Novokuznetsk with roots in Southern Dagestan and Azerbaijan, captured 42.6% of the viewer vote.
She was coached by renowned bass Ildar Abdrazakov. Their final duet featured two classics: "You'll Wake Me at Dawn" (Rybnikov) and "Tenderness" (Pakhmutova). Her voice—classical power mixed with extraordinary tenderness—was unbeatable.
Channel One will donate viewer-vote proceeds to the People's Front Foundation, which helps natural disaster victims in Northern Caucasus.
