MAKHACHKALA, July 22 – RIA "Dagestan". Russia’s largest wind power plant, the 300 MW Novolakskaya WPP, has been officially launched in Dagestan by Rosatom’s renewable energy division, marking a transformative step for the regional energy sector.
Comprising 120 turbines installed in two phases (152.5 MW and 147.5 MW), the facility will supply electricity to over 240,000 households, covering approximately 9% of Dagestan’s total demand.
Acting Head Fyodor Shchukin hailed the project as proof of the region’s capacity to execute complex national-scale technological initiatives, emphasizing its role in alleviating chronic power shortages, stabilizing grid voltage, creating jobs and boosting local budgets.
Rosatom Renewable Energy CEO Grigory Nazarov highlighted that this tenth wind farm featured record domestic localization of key components, reinforcing national energy sovereignty and thanked regional leadership for their strategic partnership in delivering this milestone for both Dagestan and Russia.
